How to Run for School Board

Do you want to run for school board?

There are three seats up for election in 2026.

Any resident of South Milwaukee who is 18 or older is eligible to be a candidate.

Elections are in April.

To become a candidate, two simple forms are required: a declaration of candidacy and a campaign finance registration statement.

The Deadline to file the Declaration of Candidacy and Campaign Finance Registration Statement is January 6 at 5 p.m.

The January 6 deadline for candidates filing to run for the school board has passed.

Six candidates have filed paperwork for three seats on the School Board. Candidates are:

Patrick Hintz (incumbent)

Brian Genduso (incumbent)

Melissa Ellis

Tory Elliott

John Nuck

Terrence Talley

Board member Nathan Jurowski has filed his notice of non-candidacy.
