Homefield Pride Victory: The Trophy is Here!

Check presentation

South Milwaukee has officially claimed its title as the Home Field Pride Contest Champions!

On Thursday, Superintendent Deidre Roemer and Athletic and Activities Director Ante Udovicic were presented with the Homefield Pride Champions Trophy, a check for $1,000, and a framed image of the finished field and track from Ryan Anderson of Midwest Sports and Turf Systems and Elizabeth Rudolph of Wisconsin Sports Network.

This victory in the online contest was hard-earned with the support of our students, staff, alumni, and the entire South Milwaukee community. The Rockets community cast an astonishing 17,705 votes – the highest in contest history!

It’s no surprise that it was the community pulling together that put South Milwaukee over the top. The ongoing $3.8 million renovations to the football field, track, softball, and baseball fields were made possible without incurring debt, thanks to the commitment of the School Board, the Launching a Legacy fundraising committee, and a generous $1 million gift from the Bucyrus Foundation.
