The school district of South Milwaukee is pleased to share with you that we will continue to provide a virtual learning option, the South Milwaukee Virtual Academy (SMVA), for students in 6-12 grade for the 2022-23 school year. Additionally, the SMVA will continue to provide robust and high-quality learning opportunities through our partnership with Edgenuity.
Please note the following:
Enrollment is capped at 50 students in grades 6-12.
If your student is open-enrolled into South Milwaukee, they must attend in-person learning in the 2022-23 school year. The state granted temporary flexibility for students who are open-enrolled to attend virtual schools in their non-resident districts through the pandemic. This flexibility is no longer allowed.
Each student considering the SMVA must fill out an application.
Next Steps:
Review the SMVA programming via the link below,
Complete South Milwaukee Virtual Academy Application also located below.
Current SMVA students must complete the application by April 18th if they plan to be a fully virtual student.
*If your student has an IEP, 504 or Language Learning needs: Once your application is received, a meeting will be scheduled to ensure placement and appropriate instructional support are documented.
