The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Report Cards are now available to the public for the 2024-2025 school year.
Our teams have had a busy summer of learning, cleaning, building, and planning to ensure we are ready to go for the first day of school, and we wanted to share a few updates about what each of our teams has been working on this summer.
It has been a great year for our School District of South Milwaukee community! We have many positive accomplishments to celebrate and have a clear focus on the things we need to prioritize for the next school year. As our students head off for the summer break, I want to share some updates.
Deidre Roemer
Superintendent
Superintendent Deidre Roemer joined South Milwaukee in July 2023. Prior to that she worked in the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District starting in 2005 first as a teacher, then the Coordinator of Special Education, the Director of Leadership and Learning and for the last year as the Assistant Superintendent.
Prior to her time in West Allis-West Milwaukee, she taught in Minnesota, Iowa, Milwaukee, Hawaii and Illinois. She also serves as an associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and is a contributing author of Because of a Teacher by George Couros.
