SMHS Awarded AP Pacesetter Award

SMHS Pacesetter Award
  • 01/09/2026

Congratulations to South Milwaukee High School, which was recognized for the number of its students who take and score well on AP exams.

The Wisconsin Department of Education and the Advanced Placement Advisory Council recognized SMHS for having 10 percent or more of its students take at least one AP exam, and 60 percent or more of those students earned a 3 or higher (the top score is 5) on the exam.

Research shows that students who earn a 3 or better on AP exams excel in college or university.

The Pacesetter Awards are given out jointly by the Wisconsin Department of Education and the Advanced Placement Advisory Council. They recognize levels of participation and cultures of excellence in high schools. This year's awards are based on exams taken in the 2023-24 school year.
