Open Enrollment 2023-24

Open Enrollment is the public school program that allows parents to apply for their children to attend public school in a school district other than the one in which they reside.

The 2023-2024 school year open enrollment application period is February 6, 2023 - April 28, 2023 at 4:00 PM. Late applications will not be accepted for any reason. To complete an application please visit the DPI Open Enrollment website, http://dpi.wi.gov/oe.

If you are currently attending school in the South Milwaukee School District through the Open Enrollment program, you DO NOT need to reapply.

If you are currently attending school in the South Milwaukee School District through a Tuition Waiver because you recently moved, or you recently moved and did not apply for Tuition Waiver, you need to apply for Open Enrollment. The School Board has guaranteed Open Enrollment status to all currently attending students in addition to the new placement numbers as listed below. However, you need to actually apply through Open Enrollment to continue attending here.
