Elementary Summer School

Monday-Thursday

June 24 -July 31, 2025
8:00 AM - noon

There is no summer school on Fridays.
 

Each day includes four 1-hour classes
Period 1: 8:00 am
Period 2: 9:00 am
Period 3: 10:00 am
Period 4: 11:00 am

K4 & K5 has one 4-hour block
8:00 am - 12 Noon

Classes will be held at the South Milwaukee Middle School, 1001 15th Avenue.

Students will enter in the front of the Middle School at Door #1.

**Note: We do expect a high volume of traffic on 15th Avenue so please plan accordingly.

All students will enter Door #1 (main entrance) each day starting at 7:55 AM.  On the first day of school families may enter the building to help students find classrooms.  After the first day of school, families must remain outside.  Staff members will be available inside to help direct students.

The circle driveway in front of the middle school will be closed before and after school.  Parking is available on 15th Avenue and the other surrounding streets in front of the middle school.  Crossing guards will be present to help get across 15th Avenue.  We do anticipate there will be a lot of traffic, so please allow time for parking and walking to the building.  The city has No Parking signs on the streets surrounding the Middle School. Families DO NOT need to follow these signs during summer school hours.

Students will be brought to Door #1 at noon for dismissal.  4K and 5K students will use door #55 for dismissal (located on the south side of the front of the Middle School).

Just like the regular school year, absences must be reported each day.    Please call the office at 414.766.5103 or use the online daily attendance form.

Emails will be sent home on days your student is marked absent and we have not heard from you.

Students who have 5 consecutive days of unexcused absences will be removed from summer school.

Breakfast WILL NOT be served.  Please make sure your students have breakfast prior to arriving at summer school.  The doors will open at 7:55 and classes begin promptly at 8:00.  

An optional sit-down lunch will be available in the High School Commons from noon to 12:45 PM.  When the school day is done, all students will exit the middle school and then students/families will be responsible for getting to lunch. Students must go through Door #9 at the High School for lunch.  

Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle to fill throughout the day.
