Dear Rawson Families –
There has been plenty going on at Rawson School this spring. It was great to have so many parents in the school for Writing Night and the Art Show. For those who came (and there were many), thank you for your attendance and sharing in the power of learning through writing and art with your child. The students did a wonderful job presenting their artwork and writing, too! Another special thanks to Mrs. Beck, Mrs. Hagfors, Ms. Evans, and Mrs. Jonasen for their hard work behind the scenes and in front of the stage, too. Please be aware of the following:
School Attendance – Our overall school attendance rate in the month of April was 95%. Once again, our 3rd grade students lead the way with 96%. K4 and 2nd Grade were the next highest with 95.5%. Our overall number of tardies is coming down, too. On behalf of the staff, we commend you for your faithfulness in having your child/ren ready each day and on time. Remember to notify the office should an absence be necessary.
5th grade parents– Thanks to those 5th grade parents who submitted all paperwork and fees for the camping trip. It is coming up on May 16th – 18th. We will have days of hiking, crafting, and serving. The Service Project we are working on is to build a boardwalk so all campers can access the river for fishing and other activities. We are looking forward to another safe and educational trip.
PTO Opportunity – Please consider shadowing our Committee Chairperson for next year. The Sock Hop, Movie Night, and Sunshine Committees will need someone to carry on the tradition of each event. Please call 766 – 2906 if interested or come to the June 5th meeting in Rawson’s Library. Also, future fundraising efforts led by the PTO will be in support of getting Smartboards for each classroom at Rawson. Thank you for your support of our students and their learning!
Safety & Patience - Continue to sign in when you come into the building and remain patient in our parking lot. A reminder that when you are dropping off your child or picking them up it should be next to the curb and not in the middle of the drive. As usual, thank you for complying with these safety measures.
These are just some of the ways that the Rawson School can continue to be its best. Thank you for your support and care as we work together to help our students be successful.
Sincerely,
Mr. Jacobs
