Principal's Message

Dear Blakewood Families:

It is my pleasure to serve you and your children.  I am looking forward to a great year together filled with learning!

We are committed to working together with families to provide an excellent educational experience for all of our children.   When we commit to working together great things are possible.

Please look for a Friday Folder coming home each week with your child.  It will have important papers for you to review and information to keep you updated on what is going on in your child’s classroom.  EC and 4K students will have folders sent home on an alternate day.  Also, look for the monthly newsletter Bobcat Pawprints, to keep you up to date on school-wide happenings.  This information will also be updated on the school website.  If you are looking for information that you would find helpful to be online, please let us know so we can work on adding that content.

It is our hope that by keeping families informed, you can have meaningful conversations about what your child is doing at school.  I have found I get the most information from my children when I can ask about specific events or when I ask a specific question such as, “What was your favorite thing about math today?”  It yields better results than, “How was school today?”

Enjoy this special time in your children’s lives.

Sincerely,
